Thinking About Sleeping?
Have you ever had problems sleeping at night?
I bet most of you have.
I bet that some of you will say that you have issues with sleeping because you think about too much.
The main cause of my lack of sleep lately has been from thinking too much and you have no idea how much thinking I can do in a single night. You drop into bed, tired as hell, you make your self comfortable, messing around with your duvet to find the most relaxing position to help you drift of to sleep, but wait, something pops in to your head. Ah you are screwed!
Whether its something deep related or completely random, when some people start to think when they try to get to sleep, thats it, game over, it takes ages to stop thinking and uh oh its nearly 4am before you drift of to sleep and you have to be awake at 8am!
I get times when I start thinking of something meaningful that has been on my mind for a while, trying to figure out what I can do about it, then i realise I should be sleeping and stop thinking about things because nothing will help and being extremely tired in the morning is no fun when you got work to be doing.
I then get to the stage where i realise that I am now thinking about not thinking and i should stop thinking but that still requires thinking so I am still thinking! I then try to think that I should try to think about something else so I stop thinking.....yes I am contradicting myself. I some how changed from some pressing issue to something work related that was fun....my mind is such a mess, that is why this site exists!
So to summarise, I am thinking about trying to think about something else so by not thinking I can get some sleep which only happens when I am not thinking yet I am thinking all the time.
...why were we not given an off switch for our minds? Would make life so much easier.

This has been happening me for a few years. Has gotten worse thisa year, for a few reasons. But Ive found reading really helps me. Ok so I still dont get the sleep i should, but at least it stops the turture of trying to go to sleep. I just read till I cant keep my eyes open anymore. then Im asleep.
